Zara Website Re-design
My Role
In this project, I played the role of lead designer, responsible for conceptualizing and executing the thematic redesign. My tasks included layout design, UI/UX enhancements, and implementing interactive elements that mirrored the collection’s inspiration. This role required deep research into current web design trends and Zara’s brand identity to create a seamless fusion of familiarity and innovation.
Approach
My approach focused on understanding how users interacted with Zara’s current website and what elements they valued most when exploring new collections. By identifying these key user behaviors, I designed the new layout around features and functions that customers engaged with most. This user-centered strategy ensured that the redesigned site showcased the "Lunar Tides" collection effectively, balancing thematic elements with practical navigation and usability to create a seamless and engaging online shopping experience.
Challange
One of the main challenges was ensuring that the new design would maintain Zara’s existing brand ethos while integrating thematic elements without overpowering the overall user experience. Striking the right balance between aesthetic appeal and functionality was key, as was maintaining the site’s navigability and responsiveness across devices. Another challenge was incorporating visual storytelling that engaged users while supporting seamless e-commerce functionality.
Overview
For the project, I undertook the redesign of Zara's website, crafting it to align with the launch of their new collection, "Lunar Tides." This thematic redesign aimed to capture the ethereal and sophisticated essence of the collection, integrating visual elements that evoke the mystique of moonlit nights and oceanic undertones. The goal was to create an immersive online experience that resonated with Zara’s target audience and highlighted the collection's unique attributes while maintaining brand coherence.
