IRCTC Website Re-design
My Role
As the lead UI/UX designer for the IRCTC website redesign project, I spearheaded efforts to identify key user pain points through extensive user research and data analysis. My responsibilities included conceptualizing and developing wireframes, interactive prototypes, and final design layouts. I collaborated closely with my team to align project goals and user needs while ensuring a seamless, user-friendly interface. Additionally, I played a pivotal role in iterating designs based on user feedback and usability testing, aiming to reduce navigation complexity and cognitive load. My focus was on creating an intuitive, aesthetically appealing interface that caters to a broad spectrum of travelers, enhancing their overall experience.
Approach
The approach centered on discovering what users actually utilize the platform for by conducting thorough user research and behavioral analysis. By pinpointing high-value features and understanding pain points, the design was reimagined around these core functions to prioritize simplicity and efficiency. Emphasis was placed on reducing cognitive load and enhancing navigation through iterative design, user testing, and continuous feedback integration, ensuring a user-centric platform that meets real needs and elevates the overall experience.
Challange
Understanding the extensive IRCTC website was challenging due to the diverse user approaches and the vast array of pages. Identifying common pain points and creating streamlined navigation for various user demographics required extensive research and iterative design.
Overview
The current IRCTC website suffers from navigation complexity, extensive cognitive load, and an uninviting interface, resulting in frustration and an unsatisfactory user experience. This UI/UX redesign project aims to create a streamlined, user-centric experience, addressing these issues and enhancing the platform's appeal for a diverse range of travellers.
